UNESCO warning to Venice, London and Seville about modern cruise ships and buildings

Venice is at the forefront of UNESCO warnings about the dangers of modern cruise ships and buildings. UNESCO has called for restrictions on the passage of cruise ships through the Venetian lagoon. Following the Costa Concordia cruise ship crash, UNESCO has expressed concern about the risks to Venice caused by cruise ships in a statement:

There is even speculation that UNESCO is threatening London and Seville with the removal of sites in these cities from the UNESCO World Heritage List.
